Our Initiatives

Quality Policy

We will implement rigid quality management in compliance with customers' requirements and with laws and regulations in the implementation of our business activities. We will also establish a quality management system (QMS) in consideration of all stakeholders and maintain and improve its effectiveness and ensure its appropriateness. For these purposes, we have established the quality policy set out below and will continuously improve our QMS accordingly.

1. Increasing customer satisfaction

We will work to improve product quality in the thoughtful and sincere service of customers with a view toward increasing customer satisfaction.

2. Compliance with laws, regulations and rules

We will observe not only laws and regulations but also our own rules and the arrangements we make with customers.

3. Strengthening of quality improvement activities

We will carry out quality improvement activities after setting quality target and effectively implementing the PDCA cycle.

4. Reinforcing communication

We will step up internal communication to improve operations. We will also step up external communication to share needs and issues.

5. Full participation in quality improvement

We will provide education and training so that all of our employees understand and observe the quality policy and our quality targets.

We will revise the quality policy in consideration of environmental changes and other factors through management reviews and on other occasions.

Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Policy

Under the action guidelines such as acting sincerely, putting importance on people and society, and manufacturing with dreams, based on the basic policy on responsible care, we understand that, the basics for continuing plant operations are focusing on customers, striving for safe and stable plant operations and continuously reducing risks related to occupational health and safety. Accordingly, we share the following policy with everyone working at our plants and ensure that it is implemented in order to preserve the environment, prevent environmental pollution, and ensure and improve safety, security and health.

  • With ensuring safety as the top priority, we will continuously implement risk assessment and strive to reduce unsafe points and continue operations without accidents or injuries.
  • We will ensure safety in the handling of chemical substances. We will work to prevent not only our employees but also the employees of partner companies working on the premises of our facilities, construction workers, logistics operators, customers and other people involved in our business being exposed to health hazards.
  • We will accelerate the creation of appropriate workplace environments and support our employees in their independent maintenance of their own health.
  • We will observe laws, regulations, agreements, company rules and other rules regarding occupational health and safety and the environment and act sincerely.
  • To earn and maintaining the trust of stakeholders and society, we will always pay attention to the environmental impact of our business activities and endeavor to preserve the environment.
  • We will effectively use the environmental management system to continuously improve referencing environmental impact assessments and we will endeavor to reduce our environmental impact.

Occupational Health, and Safety and Environmental Policy

Japan Composite is aware that its mission is to fulfill the expectations of local communities and society and to support the continuous development of society through compliance and the continuous improvement of safety, health, the environment and quality in accordance with our management philosophy and management guidelines. Therefore, we will communicate well with the people and companies that we have relationships with in our implementing our business activities.

  • We will make sure that we all remember that safety is the top priority, above everything else, and we will tirelessly seek to achieve zero accidents and zero injuries.
  • We will assess the risks to humans and the environment throughout the life cycles of products to ensure people's health and reduce environmental impact.
  • We will work to enhance people's quality of life and preserve the global environment through development of technologies and products and other business activities.
  • Responding to the trust of our customers, we will provide products and services that result in customer satisfaction.
  • We will work proactively to improve employees' mental and physical health.

Purchasing Policy

The Mitsui Chemicals Group carries out purchasing activities in accordance with the Mitsui Chemicals Group Purchasing Policy. In addition, the Mitsui Chemicals Group Sustainable Procurement Guidelines summarize the things that suppliers are asked to work on together with the Mitsui Chemicals Group.

The Mitsui Chemicals Group recognizes that all its suppliers are good partners and endeavors to trade with them fairly and in good faith in the hope that both the Group and its suppliers will achieve sustainable development.

The Mitsui Chemicals Group also tackles issues, with a global perspective, including environmental, social and corporate governance issues, across the entire supply chain, aiming to achieve sustainable procurement.

The Mitsui Chemicals Group is committed to conducting purchasing activities in accordance with this Group Purchasing Policy.

  • Ensuring compliance

    We will conduct purchasing activities in compliance with the applicable laws and regulations and appropriate social practices of the regions and countries in which we operate.
    We will also require the same level of compliance from our suppliers.
  • Equal opportunity and transparency

    We will be open in choosing our suppliers, and will offer equal opportunity for fair trade in good faith.
  • Selection of suppliers from the viewpoint of sustainable procurement

    In the interests of building stronger partnerships, we will prioritize the following criteria.
    1. Suppliers that respect human rights, prohibit discrimination, and do not engage in any acts which violate human rights
    2. Suppliers that ensure fair working conditions and provide a safe and healthy working environment
      Suppliers that prohibit forced labor, prohibit child labor and discrimination in hiring
    3. Suppliers that are aware of environmental issues and are committed to solving and addressing them
    4. Suppliers that conduct fair corporate activities based on sound management practices
    5. Suppliers whose performance in areas such as pricing, quality, and delivery term are at an adequate and reasonable level, and who endeavor to maintain and improve their performance
